The Sparrow is a brushed motor boasting power and speed that surpasses systems on most ready-made electric bikes. Turn almost any bicycle into real electric transportation with the Sparrow system. This is the simplest system we make, using a brushed motor and a compact controller. How much clearance do I need at my fork dropouts? The motor is 3 1/2 inches wide, the recommended clearance at your dropouts is 4 inches.What is the top speed? On our aluminum test bike we reached 24 miles per hour on a level grade. How far can this kit go on a single charge? This is a difficult question to answer. It all depends on how you ride your bike. If you engage your motor at a dead stop or at low speeds your range will decrease greatly. If this motor is engaged at a dead stop and used continuously you should expect about 8 miles on one charge. However if you just use your motor to help you along you will should expect to receive upwards of 20 miles on a charge.
