Go buy a generator
THE next blackout to hit Darwin's northern suburbs could last a week, authorities warned yesterday. Power and Water Corporation boss Andrew Macrides said residents should prepare by stocking up on batteries, radios - even buying a generator.
Four blackouts have left up to 15,000 northern suburbs homes without power, sometimes for up to 15 hours, in the past few weeks. Mr Macrides said the Casuarina zone substation was down to 75 per cent capacity and is still vulnerable to equipment failure."It could be cataclysmic, which would mean a week without supply because of the time it would take to get the back-up generators in place," he said.Mr Macrides said residents should prepare as if they were preparing for a blackout in the cyclone season.
He suggested "buying batteries, radios ... looking at whether you should have your own back-up power supply, going out and buying a generator."Mr Macrides also suggested looking at gas cookers and lights - or even arranging to stay at a friend's house."That's obviously an option if they find it unbearable living in their own homes," he said.

Wind power development and utilization of several key scientific issues
The importance of the development of wind energy has indisputable that a large-scale wind energy development must first resolve a series of key scientific issues. The importance of the development of wind energy has indisputable that a large-scale wind energy development must first resolve a series of key scientific issues. Deputy Director of the National Climate Center, China Meteorological Administration, solar wind energy resource assessment and research fellow at Rayong, director of the Center of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences researcher at the Institute of Hu in the non-acceptance of the "Science Times" interview, emphasized the same point of view.
"In 2003 on the 13th typhoon 'cuckoo', in 2006 on the 1st of Typhoon 'pearl' and No. 8 typhoon 'Saomai' were the result of Shanwei in Guangdong Red Bay wind farm, the South Australian wind farm Cangnan in Zhejiang Province and the Cape mountain-top electric fan of the serious Damage. "Talking about extreme weather and climate on the impact of wind power resources development, Rayong, said that in the past, in the design of wind power, on the impact of extreme weather and climate much about, for example, on the southeast coast of the typhoon, how strong On how much wind power.

News Media Validates HHO Generator Works
With so much of the news media getting it wrong about HHO gas savers, it is refreshing to find one that has gotten it right. Most of the online media will report their biases, opinion or factually incorrect information that a little research could have cleared up. But, instead of injecting their own opinion without any fact checking WYFF4 out of Greenville, SC decided to go right to the horse’s mouth and ask a local mechanic to build an HHO device from the very same eBook we advertise on the upper right corner of this page. The mechanic, Sumner Huckaby (not related to Mike Huckabee) built the HHO generator based on the eBook in two days using parts from an auto parts store and home supply company.
The homemade run your car on water device was placed inside a 1990 Buick Century and with the turn of a key, HHO gas was produced and the engine responded. Of course, Huckaby wants to conduct more extensive tests and adjust the fuel-mixture as needed for optimal results. But, the main point is that the media got it right by going to a mechanical expert to have independent tests run on this technology. A few more HHO skeptics have fallen by the wayside and the world as we know it is a better place. Now, if we can just get Pep Boys to buy into selling this technology, that will be a huge advancement indeed.

METRO NEWS BRIEFS: CONNECTICUT; Stolen Diesel Generator Is Found Near Interstate
A 5,000-pound generator stolen Nov. 9 from a sewage pumping station where it was installed to handle Year 2000 problems was found last week. The $55,000 diesel generator, capable of powering an entire city block, was found Dec. 23 beneath an Interstate 95 bridge in Norwalk, the state police said. The generator and the tractor-trailer that carried it were stolen Nov. 9 from the pumping station. When it was found, the generator was sitting on the bed of another tractor-trailer that had been stolen Nov. 23 in Milford.
In this regard, China's current wind forecasts are mainly based on local weather conditions to carry out a number of wind power forecasting. In June 2006, the China Meteorological Administration set up solar wind energy resource assessment center. The center has started to do some of the wind power forecasting. "We are two wind farm and co-operation for a number of wind power forecasting system for construction and development." "But these are far from adequate, the current urgent need for the establishment of specialized services in the wind wind power to deploy the Internet wind resource monitoring and forecasting system." Rayong pointed out.

Replacing the Diesel Generator with 30-kW Micro-Hydro Power Unit
Udmaroo Village is situated about 154 km away from the main city of Leh and about 35 km from Diskit, the Block Headquarters, Nubra Block, Leh District. It is a densly-populated but isolated village in the Nubra Block. The Village is connected with a 1-km long bridge on the Shayok River from the main road. It presently has 90 households with a population of about 500. The villagers are mostly farmers and are dependent on subsistence agriculture. The main crops are barley, wheat, and mustard along with vegetables like cabbages, leafy vegetables, potato and tomatoes. The soil is very fertile which enables the villagers to attain high production of apricot which can be considered as the main cash crop. Besides, the villagers also depend on rearing sheep, goat and cows to meet their personal needs to sustain themselves during the harsh winter season.
Before the installation of 30-kW Micro Hydro Power Unit (MHPU) in Udmaroo, the villagers depended on a diesel generator (2 kW) donated by the Army, under the Sadbhavana Programme, for electricity (lights) in the evening. But due to the low capacity of the diesel generator, it failed to cater to the needs of the whole Village. The villagers were only able to light one CLF bulb per house-hold. This was insufficient to work efficiently in the evening; besides, the installation and operation of end-use machines for income generation was out of question.
